Visit Walt Disney World

One of the most popular amusement parks in the world, and one of the major reasons so many families book flights to Orlando, is Walt Disney World. The huge attraction consists of four theme parks, two water parks, several golf courses, two shopping districts and 27 themed resort hotels.

Opened back in 1971 and sprawling across 40 square miles, visitors can spend days exploring the four parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.

Each area not only boasts thrilling rides, but also interactive attractions and meet and greets with well-known characters such as Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse. With so much for families to do, it is little wonder it has earned the tag the ‘Happiest Place on Earth’.

Families are well catered for in Orlando, but it’s not just the children who will enjoy a day out at Universal Orlando Resort. Smaller and easier to navigate than Walt Disney World, this theme park offers fun for the entire family thanks to its range of adrenaline-fuelled rollercoasters and entertaining live shows.

Consisting of three theme parks, Islands of Adventure has the bulk of the thrill rides, while Universal Studios has an array of movie-based attractions. Finally, the recently opened Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a must-visit for fans of the JK Rowling novels.
