Arriving in Rome

Book your flights to Rome with Etihad Airways and prepare to experience a world where antiquity and modernity gracefully walk hand in hand.

Plan Your Rome Holiday

We cannot begin to name all the reasons to travel to Rome, but let us give you a few. Sit by the waters of the Trevi Fountain and watch the lifeblood of the city – its people – hurry about the town. Stroll through the luxurious Villa Borghese, Rome’s second largest public park, which contains attractions and museums. Search for one-of-a-kind treasures in the shops along Via del Boschetto. Feed your senses in one of Rome’s many restaurants and sample the traditional, deservingly world-renowned cuisine.

The peak season in Rome runs from June to August. We recommend you purchase your tickets to Rome well in advance if travelling during the summer months. To find cheap hotels in Rome and avoid the heat and crowds, consider visiting in October or November or anytime from February until April. Winter might be chilly, but Rome offers so many indoor attractions that your trip will not lack for satisfying entertainment. Major Airports In Romania

By far the most prominent airport in Romania is Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP), which as of 2012 recorded over 7 million passengers annually. Used as an airbase by the German air force in 1965, Henri Coanda International Airport was not originally Romania’s primary commercial airliner hub. However, a massive runway extension in 1965 of up to 3,500 metres, the longest in Europe at that time, secured its position as Romania’s premier international travel centre.

Airport Transportation In Romania

Located a modest 16km from the centre of Bucharest, journeys to the airport are quick and convenient. You can catch a train to Henri Coanda International Airport from Bucharest’s main railway station, Gara de Nord. Be sure to allow approximately 30 minutes for the journey. A bus to Henri Coanda International Airport is also available at the Gara de Nord railway station. A taxi to Henri Coanda International Airport can be hailed at the railway station as well, though this may not be the most economical option available to travellers.
