The peak season in Rome runs from June to August. We recommend you purchase your tickets to Rome well in advance if travelling during the summer months. Flying from Almaty

Major Airports in Almaty

Almaty International Airport (ALA) is located about 15km northeast of the city and serves as the main airport in Kazakhstan. It receives an average of 3.5 million passengers annually, but this number is increasing so plans to expand the facilities are underway. A new passenger terminal is expected to open its doors to international tourism soon.

Airport Transportation in Almaty

There are many options to travel to the airport, but the most economical and cheapest option is to take a bus. From the city centre, you can take a bus to Almaty International Airport in under 30 minutes. There is also a trolleybus line that has recently been renovated and that departs every 10 minutes.

Another alternative, if you are short of time or travelling with lots of luggage, is to take a taxi to Almaty International Airport. There is no train to Almaty Airport at present.
