Major Airports in Saudi Arabia

For travel from Riyadh, the major airport is King Khalid International Airport (RUH). This is a huge airport; it serves over 13 million passengers a year and has an attached VIP terminal.

When flying out of Dammam, the closest airport is King Fahd International Airport (DMM). This is the largest airport in terms of area in the world, though it serves a relatively small number of passengers by comparison.

Airport Transportation in Saudi Arabia

Taxis to King Khalid International Airport are available throughout the city. Authorised taxis carry the airport logo and it is compulsory that they have meters. There are no buses to the King Khalid International Airport, but it is possible to get shuttles to and from nearby hotels.

Buses to King Fahd International Airport travel from all nearby cities and the fares are reasonable. Taxis to King Fahd International Airport are also available and take about 60 minutes from the centre of Dammam. At present there is no train service to either of the airports.
