Major Airports in Jordan

For travellers leaving Zizya, international flights leave Queen Alia International Airport (AMM). Located 20 miles south of Amman, this is Jordan’s largest airport. There are two passenger terminals and parking is available at a departure curb side area in addition to short and long term parking lots.

Another option for flights out of Jordan is from the King Hussein International Airport (AQJ). This airport has a single passenger terminal with a capacity of 1.5 million passengers annually. There is also a post office, duty free shopping, and cafeterias.

Airport Transportation in Jordan

You can catch your international flight by taking a bus or taxi to Queen Alia Airport and travel time will take around 45 to 60 minutes from central Amman. There is currently no train to Queen Alia Airport and therefore buses and taxis are your best options of ground transportation.

You can travel by bus to King Hussein Airport, but this often takes more than 3 hours from Amman centre. You can also take a private taxi making the journey about an hour.

Plan Your Almaty Holiday

Travel to Almaty and discover a world that for a long time remained hidden from the European traveller. In the Tengri Umai Gallery you'll find an amazing selection of Soviet and local artists’ work, in the Central State Museum you will learn the history of Kazakhstan, and in the exclusive Arasan Baths you will be able to balance your mind and body through either Turkish, Finnish, or Russian methods.

If you purchase tickets to Almaty during the summer, you can explore the stunning Trans-Ili Alatau on horseback and refresh yourself in Alpine Lakes. If you take advantage of the off-peak season flight deals to Almaty, you can see these same areas under a beautiful blanket of snow and also enjoy winter sports. As this country has not yet been exposed to international tourism, it will be relatively easy to find cheap hotels in Almaty, except in the month of September, which is the busiest month of the year.
