Arriving in Amman

Book one of Etihad Airways’ flights to Amman and prepare for a truly memorable experience. This city will captivate you with its energy initially and then gradually reveal its most spectacular qualities through its historic monuments and museums.

Plan Your Amman Holiday

There are many reasons to travel to Amman but one of the best is that this city was and continues to be an amazing melting pot of cultures. You can find remains from the Bronze Age and traces of the Romans or you can visit one of the most attractive and mysterious places in the world: Petra. Amman does not only have museums, temples and archaeological sites, though. Its modern character is revealed through events like the Jordan Rally, the motor race that takes place in the Jordan Valley.

In fact, the calendar of events that are celebrated in the city and surrounding areas is so extensive that it is not always easy to find cheap hotels in Amman. Accordingly, we recommend that you book in advance and that you do not miss Etihad Airways’ flight deals to Amman. Finding tickets to Amman at good prices is easier during the winter low season of October to March.

Flying from Sri Lanka

You can take flights from Sri Lanka to many destinations around the world with Etihad Airways and enjoy the advantages of a high quality flying experience from the time you make your reservation until you arrive at your chosen destination.

Major Airports in Sri Lanka

Reserve your flights from Sri Lanka and fly from Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). The airport is in the city of Hambantota and is 35km from the city of Colombo. Both Terminals 1 and 2 serve international passengers, while the third terminal operates exclusively for domestic services. As the main airport in Sri Lanka, Bandaranaike Airport has excellent road and rail links. Ratmalana International Airport (RML) also offers international flights from Colombo itself.

Airport Transportation in Sri Lanka

Trains to Bandaranaike Airport can be accessed using the Airport Express Rail, which runs directly from the centre of Colombo. You can catch a shuttle bus to Bandaranaike Airport from some hotels so be sure to enquire when you book. The extensive public bus system in Colombo does run to the airports, but you may prefer to hire a taxi to Bandaranaike Airport, which will take only 13 minutes from Colombo city centre via the new, high-speed Katunayake Expressway.

Interested in Amman? Consider Al Ain

With your flights to Al Ain on Etihad Airways, you will find yourself in the beautiful Garden City where you’ll feel a distant past and return to embrace modernity all with the course of a few minutes. This land encompasses the spirit of the Emirates and preserves an ancient heritage that has earned it the designation as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Plan your Al Ain Holiday

There are a thousand reasons to travel to Al Ain: explore its modern roads in search of the most original sculptures, walk its green gardens in stark contrast to the desert that surrounds the city, look for a bargain in the old bazaar, step through the doors of its fortresses and into the past, or brave the desert sands on a camel in search of Qattara.

If you’re thinking of buying some tickets to Al Ain, keep in mind that the time preferred by residents of the nearby Abu Dhabi is the summer, so it will be harder to find flights and cheap hotels in Al Ain. It would be wise to consider a visit during the winter season when there are excellent flight deals to Al Ain and temperatures are milder.
