Located approximately 17 km from the city centre, the airport serves as the main gateway to all of eastern Indonesia. Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport was built to accommodate 7 million travellers a year, and has already surpassed that number. The airport has one civilian terminal, built in 2008, with shops and services for your convenience and comfort. The old terminal now houses the Indonesian Air force.

Airport Transportation in Makassar

It is possible to catch an airport shuttle bus to Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport and the ride will take approximately 15 minutes. You may also hire a taxi to Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport. Rates will vary according to the company, but the ride to the airport using this method will also take about 15 minutes. There is currently no train to Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport.
