Lagos is one of the largest cities in all of Africa and the Port of Lagos is one of the busiest in Africa as well. This is a city that is quickly becoming a sought after vacation destination with its modern infrastructure and plethora of ocean beaches along the Atlantic. Like most West African countries, Nigeria experiences a dry summer season, shouldered by very wet seasons, it’s the winter dry season when the weather is at its most pleasant. The peak tourist season to travel to Lagos is between December and March, and it is best to buy your tickets to Lagos early if coming at this time of year. Major Airports in Japan

For travellers departing from Japan, Tokyo International Airport (HND) serves the Greater Tokyo Area with international flights. The airport is commonly referred to as Haneda Airport and is located in Ota, about 14km from the capital, Tokyo. 

Leave Japan aboard international flights from Kansai International Airport (KIX), located in the western region of the island of Honshu. The airport serves the three large cities of Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe. Kansai Airport is in the centre of many popular tourist sites.

Airport Transportation in Japan

From Osaka, you can easily catch a train to Kansai Airport, which is about 50km away. Tickets can also be purchased for a private bus to Kansai Airport from many locations around Osaka.

From Tokyo, you can take a 13 minute train journey to Haneda Airport from Shinagawa Station. The monorail also runs from Hamamatsucho station to the airport in 13 minutes. If you prefer, you can also take a taxi to Haneda Airport.

Whether you are looking for something fun and exhilarating or relaxing, Mandalay has what you are looking for. After travelling up to Mandalay Hill, a traveler can catch a view of the gorgeous city and its surrounding countryside from 230 meters up. The Mandalay Palace is a magnificent complex that is home to the Cultural Museum, featuring sculptures, painting and furniture used by both King Mindon and King Thibaw. The cost of entering the museum is approximately $2 US per person.

The Shwenandaw Monastery is famous for its intricate wood-carvings. The Kuthodaw Pagoda, or the World’s Biggest Book, is a stone sculpture that was built in 1857. The Buddhist Bible is surrounded by 729 upright stone slabs with religious inscriptions.

The Atumashi Monastery is quite popular among men and women who fly to Mandalay. Build by King Mindon in 1857, the original structure burnt down in 1890. Fortunately, the grand monastery was rebuilt in the Nineties for visitors to enjoy.

Finally, a traveler to Mandalay can take the whole family to Yadanabon Zoological Gardens to see more than 300 different species of animals, including Burmese Roofed Turtles.
