Arriving in Kathmandu

Book your flights to Kathmandu with Etihad Airways and journey into a fabled history in a beautiful land. A city cemented in our minds through song and literature.

Plan Your Kathmandu Holiday

Walking the famed streets of Kathmandu is like stepping through history. A journey down Freak Street reminds us of an iconic time in the 1960s. Just down the road in Durbar Square we are reminded of ancient kings who ruled Nepal and lived in the lavish royal palaces that form the borders of this architectural masterpiece. All of this is dwarfed by the stunning landscape which is dominated by the world tallest mountains including Mt. Everest, jewel of the Himalayas. Travel to Kathmandu should be on everyone’s list.

The tourist season peaks once in the spring and then again in the autumn with winter also increasing in popularity. Kathmandu is truly a destination for all seasons. If you travel during the spring and autumn it is recommended that you book your tickets to Kathmandu as early as possible. Cheap hotels in Kathmandu are easily found during the hot and rainy summer season. Flight deals can always be found with a quick visit to Etihad’s Deals section.

Major Airports in Ireland

Ireland features four international airports and seven regional airports, though the relatively modest size of the Isle limits the need for domestic air travel. Of Ireland’s approximately 4.5 million inhabitants, roughly a third live within the city of Dublin and the surrounding areas, so it comes as no surprise that Dublin Airport (DUB) is the primary airport for international and domestic air travel. Opened in 1940, Dublin Airport’s two terminals service in excess of 19 million passengers each year.

Airport Transportation in Ireland

Dublin Airport is located just 10 kilometres from Dublin city centre, and is serviced by over 1,000 buses and coaches each day. Travellers can take the bus to Dublin Airport and into the city for a modest ticket price. The trip takes approximately half an hour, depending on traffic. A taxi to Dublin Airport is also available, though at greater cost with no real change in travel time. At the present time, there are no direct trains to Dublin Airport.
