Bujumbura International Airport (BJM) is located to the northwest of the city, just 12 km from the city centre. It is the main airport in the country. Airport Transportation in Bujumbura

The primary method of transport in the city is by taxi. Taking a taxi to Bujumbura International Airport is a faster and more comfortable option, but before getting in remember to negotiate the price. There is also a bus to Bujumbura International Airport, or rather a minibus service. The minibuses are cheaper than the taxis, but sometimes it is difficult to locate them. At the moment there is no train service to Bujumbura International Airport.
