Arriving in Kathmandu

Book your flights to Kathmandu with Etihad Airways and journey into a fabled history in a beautiful land. A city cemented in our minds through song and literature.

Plan Your Kathmandu Holiday

Walking the famed streets of Kathmandu is like stepping through history. A journey down Freak Street reminds us of an iconic time in the 1960s. Just down the road in Durbar Square we are reminded of ancient kings who ruled Nepal and lived in the lavish royal palaces that form the borders of this architectural masterpiece. All of this is dwarfed by the stunning landscape which is dominated by the world tallest mountains including Mt. Everest, jewel of the Himalayas. Travel to Kathmandu should be on everyone’s list.

The tourist season peaks once in the spring and then again in the autumn with winter also increasing in popularity. Kathmandu is truly a destination for all seasons. If you travel during the spring and autumn it is recommended that you book your tickets to Kathmandu as early as possible. Cheap hotels in Kathmandu are easily found during the hot and rainy summer season. Flight deals can always be found with a quick visit to Etihad’s Deals section.

Major Airports in Lusaka

In Lusaka, flights are directed and received via Lusaka International Airport (LUN), formerly Kenneth Kaunda International Airport. It is located 14 km from the centre of Lusaka. The airport has one terminal and many facilities you will find useful when you are waiting to travel; an executive lounge, eateries, shops, a post office, pharmacy and newsagent.

Airport Transportation in Lusaka

As Lusaka itself does not have regular bus services which are reliable, the best method of transport to get to Lusaka International Airport is by taxi. As Zambia’s taxis range from executive minibuses to street cars, the safest way to arrange your transport to the airport is via your accommodation provider. There is a public bus to Lusaka International Airport from the city centre, but there is no train to Lusaka International Airport.
