Arriving in Chengdu

Set amid forests and bodies of water, Chengdu is a miracle of historical preservation mixed with progressive planning. Book your flights to Chengdu with Etihad Airways and get ready to embark on an adventure into Chinese culture and excitement that few other cities in China can match.

Plan Your Chengdu Visit

There are countless reasons to travel to Chengdu. Marvel at the Leshan Giant Buddha, the world’s largest Buddha statue, cut directly into a wall of red rock. Wander through the Huanglong Scenic Area considered by some to be "A Fairyland on Earth.” Get lost in Chengdu history in one of its many ancient towns. Indulge in a Chinese feast provided by one of Chengdu’s renowned restaurants. Be enthralled at a Sichuanese opera performance.

The peak season in Chengdu runs from March through May. We recommend you reserve your tickets to Chengdu several months in advance if you wish to travel during this busy part of the year. To find cheap hotels in Chengdu, consider travelling in the off-season (December through February) when weather conditions are not as sunny but crowds much smaller. Flying from Romania

Book your flights from Romania to hundreds of destinations worldwide with Etihad Airways and experience the best in luxury, customer service, and convenience.

Major Airports In Romania

By far the most prominent airport in Romania is Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP), which as of 2012 recorded over 7 million passengers annually. Used as an airbase by the German air force in 1965, Henri Coanda International Airport was not originally Romania’s primary commercial airliner hub. However, a massive runway extension in 1965 of up to 3,500 metres, the longest in Europe at that time, secured its position as Romania’s premier international travel centre.

Airport Transportation In Romania

Located a modest 16km from the centre of Bucharest, journeys to the airport are quick and convenient. You can catch a train to Henri Coanda International Airport from Bucharest’s main railway station, Gara de Nord. Be sure to allow approximately 30 minutes for the journey. A bus to Henri Coanda International Airport is also available at the Gara de Nord railway station. A taxi to Henri Coanda International Airport can be hailed at the railway station as well, though this may not be the most economical option available to travellers.
