Major Airports in Poland

10km south west of Warsaw is the Frederic Chopin Airport (WAW), which has two terminals and 17 bars, cafes, and restaurants. You can also use the John Paul II International Airport Kraków-Balice (KRK) in Krakow. Built in 1964, KRK was used for military purposes until it was opened to the public in 1968. The Lech Wałęsa Airport in Gdansk (GDN), which was privately owned and operated until 1993, is also widely used.

Airport Transportation in Poland

WAW can be reached by car, bus or taxi. You can take a taxi to Frederic Chopin Airport from the city centre, or if you prefer, you can also take a bus to Frederic Chopin Airport. You can reach the city from Lech Wałęsa Airport in 35 minutes on the bus, or it is possible to catch a taxi for a reasonable price. The train to John Paul II International Airport to downtown Kraków takes only 20 minutes.
