The prime time for tourist travel to this city is in the spring from February to April and then again in the autumn from mid September to mid November. Major Airports in Malta

Malta International Airport (MLA) is the only airport in Malta. It welcomes over 400,000 visitors a year and is located just three miles south east of Valletta. There are several shops located at the airport including a duty free, jewellery, toy and souvenir shops. There is also a multitude of fast food cafes available.

Airport Transportation in Malta

There are several different options if you are looking to take a bus to Malta International Airport. You can take an express bus from Valletta city centre to the airport. All express routes are denoted by the numbers X1 through to X7 and leave every hour. If you are not in a rush you can catch route 117, 118, 135 or 201 depending on where you are on the island. There is also an overnight bus available from certain areas of the island. There is no train to Malta International Airport. If you prefer, you can take a quick ten minute taxi to Malta International Airport.
