Major Airports in Langkawi

Langkawi International Airport (LGK) is the only airport on the island and it is located 25 minutes from Kuah city centre. The airport is also the site of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition so if you have the time, be sure to get to the airport early and take the opportunity to have a look. The airport has a duty free shop, currency exchange, several kiosk shops offering various goods and a few cafes.

Airport Transportation in Langkawi

At present, there is no train to Langkawi International Airport. As the island is quite small there isn’t a great demand for public transport, so there is also no regularly scheduled bus to Langkawi International Airport, but some hotels will provide a shuttle service to the airport. You can however take a taxi to Langkawi International Airport and these are readily available throughout the island. Taxis can be booked from your hotel and will be able to take you on a scenic journey before you leave Langkwai.
