Major Airports in Nigeria

The largest airport in Nigeria is Murtala Muhammed International Airport (LOS). It is located in Ikeja, Lagos State, and serves the nation’s capital city. The airport has a duty free shop and various other customer services such as a bank and a business centre. It welcomed over 10 million visitors in 2012. The second largest airport is Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (ABV) which is located just outside of Abuja. It has a cafeteria and shops for travellers.

Airport Transportation in Nigeria

You cannot take a train to Murtala Muhammed International Airport or to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. Bus services are unavailable to LOS, however a shuttle bus to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport is available from the central district in Abuja every hour. As in many countries, the most convenient form of transportation is to take a taxi. Depending on traffic, a taxi to Murtala Muhammed International Airport can take between 30 and 60 minutes.
