It provides travellers with various shops, restaurants, a post office and an Internet cafe and boasts a new terminal for international travel. Another major airport is Luang Prabang International Airport (LPQ), situated in Northern Laos. It offers passengers a limited number of cafes and shops.

There are no trains to Wattay International Airport or to Luang Prabang International Airport. It may be possible to take a bus to Wattay Airport, but you will have to ask the driver to stop near the airport as there is no designated airport stop. This could lead to a lengthy walk from where the driver drops you off. There is also no bus to Luang Prabang Airport. The most fun and most affordable way to get to either airport is by tuk-tuk, a three wheeled motorcycle-based taxi-service. Alternatively, you can hire a more standard, four wheeled taxi to Wattay International Airport.
