Major Airports in the United Kingdom

In London, international flights arrive and depart from London Heathrow Airport (LHR). With the largest number of passengers of any airport in the United Kingdom, Heathrow is also the third busiest airport in the world and has five passenger terminals.

From Manchester, flights leave Manchester Airport (MAN), formerly referred to as Ringway Airport. The three passenger terminals have many duty free shops and restaurants, but travellers with more time can visit the Concorde Experience and see the famous supersonic passenger jet on a guided tour.

Airport Transportation in the United Kingdom

From London, you can take a train to Heathrow Airport in around 50 to 60 minutes. The Heathrow Express is the fastest method of travel, taking about 15 minutes from London Paddington station. You can also take a taxi to Heathrow Airport with a travel time of about one hour.

Travellers flying from Manchester can take a bus to Manchester Airport with variable travel times according to the route and the original destination.
