Plan Your Chengdu Visit

There are countless reasons to travel to Chengdu. Marvel at the Leshan Giant Buddha, the world’s largest Buddha statue, cut directly into a wall of red rock. Wander through the Huanglong Scenic Area considered by some to be "A Fairyland on Earth.” Get lost in Chengdu history in one of its many ancient towns. Indulge in a Chinese feast provided by one of Chengdu’s renowned restaurants. Be enthralled at a Sichuanese opera performance.

The peak season in Chengdu runs from March through May. We recommend you reserve your tickets to Chengdu several months in advance if you wish to travel during this busy part of the year. To find cheap hotels in Chengdu, consider travelling in the off-season (December through February) when weather conditions are not as sunny but crowds much smaller. Major Airports in Burundi

Bujumbura International Airport (BJM) is a major airport in Burundi, named after the capital city of Bujumbura. It is located about 10km away from Bujumbura’s City Centre. From here, travellers can take flights to destinations all around the world.

Gitega Airport (GID) is located in the city of Gitega, 67.16km from Bujumbura Airport in Central Burundi.

Airport Transportation in Burundi

A bus to Bujumbura Airport is the safest and fastest option. Numerous minibuses run the major routes around the country and leave the minibus station near the market area. You can flag them down on the side of the road.

There is also the option of getting a taxi to Bujumbura Airport from Bujumbura city centre for a reasonable price. You can also hire a rental car, but road conditions and concerns for safety make it advisable not to drive after 5pm. There is no train to Bujumbura Airport or Gitega Airport so taking a taxi to Gitega Airport is your best option.
