Major Airports in Uganda

There are 46 airports in Uganda, but only 5 feature paved runways. The primary airport for international travel is Entebbe International Airport (EBB), which was built in 1928 and was originally used by English RAF Reconnaissance biplanes. Since that time, Entebbe International Airport has grown considerably, servicing over 1.2 million international travellers each year.

Airport Transportation in Uganda

Entebbe International Airport is located on the shores of Lake Victoria, one of the African Great Lakes, and is approximately 41km southwest of Kampala, Uganda’s capital and largest city. While there is not a bus to Entebbe International Airport, there is a good selection of taxis available. We recommend obtaining a ‘Special Hire’ taxi to Entebbe International Airport, which can get you to there, from Kampala, in just under 45 minutes.
