Lagos is one of the largest cities in all of Africa and the Port of Lagos is one of the busiest in Africa as well. Major Airports in Mandalay

Since the turn of the century, Mandalay International Airport (MDL) has been one of the biggest and most used airports in all of Burma, serving both domestic and foreign flights. Completed in 1999, MDL is the biggest and most technologically advanced airport in the country. In fact, it is only one of three international airports in all of Burma. MDL is home to the largest runway in Southeast Asia, running 4,267 meters, or 14,000 feet. The airport was built to handle 3 million flights in and out of Mandalay every year. There are also a growing number of visitors traveling from Mandalay to Bangkok.

Airport Transportation in Mandalay

Mandalay International Airport is approximately 45 KM, or 28 miles, from the city. A taxi will cost a traveler roughly $6 US to get to the airport from the center of the city. A person can also hop onto a minibus for about $5 US to get to the airport. Of course, the minibus is rather time consuming, as it makes several stops along the way.
