Major Airports in Basra

Basrah International Airport (BSR) is located to the South of the city, at a distance of about 20 km. Built in the 1960s, over the years it has been renovated and expanded to serve the needs of travellers, but it can already boast being the second largest airport in Iraq.

Airport Transportation in Basra

For tourists, the main means of transport in Basra are taxis. You can take a taxi to Basrah International Airport, which is a relatively affordable option. At the moment there is no bus to Basrah International Airport and there is no train to Basrah International Airport, although the Al-Majal train station is very well connected with Baghdad.
