Major Airports in Rotorua

The city’s airport is called Rotorua International Airport (ROT) and is located just 9 km and approximately 15 minutes by car from the city centre. The airport is fairly small, has two runways, and most of the flights are to other parts of New Zealand. The runway has recently undergone an extension, allowing for international flights to Australia.

Airport Transportation in Rotorua

There is a daily bus to Rotorua International Airport which leaves at various times of the day. There is also a super shuttle that transports people to the airport. It is very convenient and will take you from door to door. This is possibly the simplest and most cost effective option. Another alternative is to take a taxi to Rotorua International Airport, which will be faster and more direct. At present, there is no train to Rotorua Airport.
